Low-Aspect-Ratio Tires

~1min read

Tires with a low aspect ratio, meaning a sidewall height of less than 50% of the tire width, are designed for sporty vehicles. The low aspect ratio optimizes handling and braking. However, the ride may be less comfortable and the tires may generate more road noise compared to standard tires.

CAUTION

The sidewall of a low-aspect-ratio tire is shorter than that of a standard tire. Therefore, low-aspect-ratio tires and wheels are easily damaged. Follow the instructions below.

  • When driving on rough roads or when leaving the road, be careful not to damage the tires and wheels. After driving, inspect the tires and wheels.
  • When passing over potholes, speed bumps, manhole covers or curbs, drive slowly to avoid damaging the tires and wheels.
  • If the tires are subjected to impact, check the condition of the tires, or consult an authorized HYUNDAI repairer.
  • Inspect the tire condition and tire pressure every 1,800 miles (3,000 km) to prevent tire damage.
  • It is difficult to identify tire damage by sight alone. If there is any slight indication of tire damage, inspect and replace the tire to prevent damage caused by air leakage.
  • If a tire is damaged while driving over rough road surfaces, off-road, or over obstacles such as potholes, manhole covers, or curbs, your warranty does not cover the damage.
  • Tire information is shown on the tire sidewall.
