Driving Tips

Driving in the Rain

~1min read

Rain and wet roads can create hazardous driving conditions, especially if the road surface is slippery. Please observe the following guidelines when driving in rainy weather:

  • Heavy rain reduces visibility and increases braking distance. Adjust your driving speed to the external conditions.
  • Keep the wiper blades in good condition. Replace the wiper blades as soon as they no longer wipe cleanly or leave streaks or areas of the windshield unwiped.
  • If the tire tread depth is low, there is a risk that the vehicle will skid during sudden braking on wet roads, which may cause an accident. Check at regular intervals that the tires are in good condition.
  • Turn on the headlights so that other road users can see you better.
  • Driving quickly through large puddles and standing water can affect braking performance. When driving through puddles, drive slowly.
  • If the brakes get wet, lightly apply the brake pedal while driving to heat the brakes and restore full braking effectiveness.

Driving in Flooded Areas

Avoid driving through flooded areas unless you are sure the water is no higher than the bottom of the wheel hubs. Always drive slowly through standing water. Keep a suitable distance, as braking effectiveness may be reduced. After driving through water, lightly apply the brake pedal several times to dry the brakes.

Off-Road Driving

Drive with particular caution off-road, as the vehicle may be damaged by rocks or tree roots. Become familiar with the terrain before you start driving.
