Tires

Check and, if necessary, correct the tire pressure. Tire pressure that is too low causes overheating and possible tire failure. Avoid this by not driving with damaged tires, as this leads to loss of traction and may cause tire damage.

NOTICE

Never exceed the specified tire pressure.

WARNING

  • Tire pressure that is either too high or too low can negatively affect handling and lead to sudden tire failure. This may cause you to lose control of the vehicle, which may result in accidents, injuries, or death. Always check the tire pressure before starting a trip. Observe the tire pressure values in the "Tires and Wheels" section on page 9-06.
  • Driving on tires with insufficient tread depth is dangerous. Worn tires may cause loss of vehicle control, resulting in accidents, injuries, or death. Worn tires must be replaced as soon as possible and must not be used for driving. Always check the tire tread depth before driving. For detailed information and the tire tread wear limit, refer to "Tires and Wheels" on page 9-06.

Fuel, Engine Coolant, and Engine Oil

Fuel consumption is higher when driving at high speeds than in city traffic. Monitor the engine coolant and check the engine oil.

Drive Belt

A loose or damaged drive belt may cause the engine to overheat.
