repair procedures

expansion

  1. Remove the wheel nuts, then remove the rear wheel and tire from the rear wheel hub.

    Tightening torque: 107.9 ~ 128 N·m

  2. Remove the rear axle.

(Refer to BR section - "Rear Disc Brake")

  3. Loosen the lower shock absorber bolt.

    Tightening torque. 98.0~118 N·m

  4. Loosen the bolts and remove the rear shock absorber.

    Tightening torque: 49.0~64 N·m

  5. Loosen the bolts (A), then remove the torsion bar.

    Tightening torque: 117.7~137 N·m

  6. Installation is the reverse of removal.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

CTBA (Coupled Torsion Beam Axle) Bushing

Plastic type

  1. Using the special service tool (09551-AL100), remove the CTBA bushing (torsion bar with coupling). Replace.

    19. Main Nut
    20. Lock Wire
    21. Bushing Guide Bolt
  2. Measure the outer diameter of the torsion bar.

The outer diameter of the two types of torsion bars is 78 mm and 84 mm.

  3. Attach the beam clamp adapter (A) to beam clamp A (B).

  4. Temporarily install bracket A (A) and bracket C (B) with the bolt.

  5. Attach the support clamp correctly to the support tube, then install the bolt.

  6. Install the main bolt (A) and main nut (B), then insert them into the beam clamp support (C).

  7. Align the hole of the main nut (A) and the bolt (B) precisely, then assemble.

8th.

After installing the main bolt (A) into the bushing hole, assemble the beam clamp support (B) and the beam clamp guide, aligning them.

  1. In the installation order, install removal adapter A (A), bearing (B) and washer (C) onto the main bolt.

  2. Temporarily install 2 nuts (A).

  3. Use the double nut method with a wrench and torque wrench to attach.

    Tightening torque: 49 N·m

  4. Turn the main bolt (A) counterclockwise with the special service tool to properly attach.

  5. Install the protective cap (A).

  6. Attach the safety wire (A), wrapping it once around the torsion bar axis.

  7. Remove the bushing by turning the main bolt (A) counterclockwise with an impact wrench.

During this operation, visually check through the hole in the cover (B) whether the nut is loosening. If the nut loosens, tighten it to the specified torque.

  8. After the bushing is completely removed, loosen the lock wire (A).

  9. Remove the bushing and the special service tool from the torsion bar axis.

  10. Remove the bushing (A) by disconnecting the special service tool.

  11. Install bushing guide B (B) onto bushing guide A (A).

  12. Install the bushing guide (A) onto the beam clamp.

  13. Before performing the procedure, heat the outside of the new bushing with a heat gun to approximately 40–60 °C.

  14. Install the new bushing, aligning the bushing groove (A) with the lower section (B) of the torsion bar axis.

  15. Install the main bolt (A) and main nut (B), then insert them into the installation adapter B (C).

  16. Align the hole of the main nut (A) and the bolt (B) precisely, then assemble.

  17. Install the adapter (B) by inserting the main bolt (A) into the hole with the socket head. Attach.

  18. In the installation order, install adapter C (A), bearing (B) and washer (C) onto the main bolt.

  19. Temporarily install two nuts (A).

  20. Use the double nut method with a wrench and torque wrench to attach.

    Tightening torque: 49 N·m

  21. Turn the main bolt (A) counterclockwise with the special service tool to properly attach.

  22. Install the protective cap (A).

  23. Attach the safety wire (A), wrapping it once around the torsion bar axis.

  24. Turn the main bolt (A) clockwise with a pneumatic impact wrench, installing so that there is a 10 mm gap between the bushing and the end edge. Use the socket guide.

During this operation, visually check through the hole in the cover (B) whether the nut is loosening. If the nut loosens, tighten it to the specified torque.

  25. Remove the holder clamp (A).

  26. Turn the main bolt (A) clockwise with an impact wrench, assembling so that there is a 5 mm gap between the bushing and the torsion bar axis.

During this operation, visually check through the hole in the cover (B) whether the nut is loosening. If the nut loosens, tighten it to the specified torque.

  27. Turn the main bolt counterclockwise with a wrench until the socket and the end of the torsion bar align.

  28. After the bushing is fully installed, release the pressure on the tools by turning the main bolt (A) clockwise.

  29. Remove the lock wire (A).

  30. Remove the special service tool from the torsion bar axis.
