Repair Procedures

Removal

1. 1

   Remove the fuel pump.

   (See Fuel System - "Fuel Pump")

2. 2

   Disconnect the fuel level sensor connector (A).

   Press the locking hook (A) with a screwdriver and remove the fuel level sensor in the direction of the arrow.

   

   

Inspection

1. 1

   Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the (-) battery cable.

2. 2

   Remove the fuel pump assembly.

3. 3

   Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 3 of the sensor connector (A) at each float level.

   3	Fuel Pump Motor (-)
   4	Fuel sensor ground (-)

4. 4

   Also check that the resistance changes smoothly as the float moves from "E" to "F".

Installation

1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
