CAUTION

Driving with the parking brake applied will cause excessive wear of brake system components.

CAUTION

If you intend to park on snow, see "Driving in Winter" (page 3-56) for information on using the parking brake.

Applying the Parking Brake

Press the brake pedal, then pull the parking brake lever firmly up to immobilize the vehicle.

Releasing the Parking Brake

Depress the brake pedal, pull the parking brake lever up, then press the release button.

While holding the button, lower the parking brake lever as far down as possible.

Warning Light

The warning light comes on if a malfunction occurs in the system.
