freins antiblocageAnti-lock Braking System
warning light

When the ignition switch is in the ON position, the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) warning light illuminates, then turns off. This indicates that the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is operational.

If the anti-lock braking system warning light illuminates while the engine is running, the anti-lock braking system may not be functioning properly. Have the system inspected by a NISSAN dealer.

When a malfunction occurs in the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), the anti-lock function is deactivated. The anti-lock braking system is then disabled and your vehicle uses the standard braking system.

Refer to the "Brake system" section in the "Starting and driving" chapter.

Les circuits du frein de stationnement et desBrake warning light

The parking brake and brake circuits are linked to this warning light.

Parking brake warning light

When the ignition switch is in the ON position, the light illuminates when the parking brake is applied.

Low brake fluid warning light

When the ignition switch is in the ON position, this light indicates that the brake fluid level is low. If it illuminates while the engine is running and the parking brake is released, stop the vehicle and take the following steps:

  1. Check the brake fluid level. Add the required amount of brake fluid.

Refer to the "Brake fluid" section in the "Maintenance and do-it-yourself" chapter of this manual.

  2. If the brake fluid level is adequate, have the vehicle's warning system checked by a NISSAN dealer.

WARNING

  • If the brake warning light is illuminated, this may indicate a brake circuit failure. Driving the vehicle may then be dangerous. If you judge that you can continue driving safely, drive carefully to the nearest service station for the necessary repairs. Otherwise, have the vehicle towed.
  • Depressing the brake pedal when the engine is off or when the brake fluid level is low may increase braking distance and pedal travel, as well as the effort required to brake.
  • If the brake fluid level is below the MINIMUM or MIN mark on the brake fluid reservoir, do not drive the vehicle until the brake system has been inspected by a NISSAN dealer.

Anti-lock Braking System warning light

When the parking brake is released and the brake fluid level is sufficient, if the brake and anti-lock brake warning lights illuminate, this may indicate that the anti-lock braking system is not functioning properly.

If necessary, have the brake system checked or repaired by a NISSAN dealer. Avoid high-speed driving and sudden braking. Refer to the "Anti-lock Braking System warning light" section in this chapter.

L'activation de ce témoin pendant que le moteurCharge warning light

If this light illuminates while the engine is running, it may indicate a malfunction in the vehicle's charging system. Turn off the ignition and check the vehicle's alternator drive belt.

If the belt is loose, broken or missing, or if the light remains illuminated, see a NISSAN dealer immediately.

WARNING

  • Do not ground accessories by connecting them directly to the battery terminal. This will short-circuit the voltage control device and the battery may not charge fully. Refer to the "Voltage control device" section (depending on vehicle equipment) in the "Maintenance and do-it-yourself" chapter later in this manual.
  • Do not drive the vehicle if the alternator belt is loose, broken or missing.

basse pression des pneusLow Tire Pressure
Warning Light

Your vehicle is equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) that monitors the pressure of all tires except the spare tire.

The low tire pressure warning light indicates low tire pressure or that the Tire Pressure Monitoring System is not functioning properly.

After the ignition is switched on, this warning light comes on for about one second and then turns off.

Low Tire Pressure Warning

The warning light comes on while driving if low tire pressure is detected.

The “Low Tire Pressure - Add Air” message is also displayed on the multi-function display.

When the low tire pressure warning light comes on, you should stop and adjust the pressure of all four tires to the recommended COLD inflation pressure shown on the Tire and Loading Information label located on the driver's door opening. Even after you have adjusted the tire pressure, the low tire pressure warning light does not turn off automatically.

Once the tire pressure has been adjusted to the recommended pressure, you must drive at over 25 km/h to activate the Tire Pressure Monitoring System and turn off the low tire pressure warning light. Use a tire pressure gauge to check the tire pressure.

The “Low Tire Pressure - Add Air” message is displayed as long as the low tire pressure warning light remains on.

For more information, refer to “Multi-function Display” in this chapter and “Tire Pressure Monitoring System” in the “Starting and Driving” and “In Case of Emergency” chapters.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System Malfunction

If the Tire Pressure Monitoring System is not functioning properly, the low tire pressure warning light flashes for about one minute when the ignition is switched on.

If the warning light stays on after one minute.

Have the system checked at a NISSAN dealer. The “Low Tire Pressure - Add Air” message is not displayed if the low tire pressure warning light comes on to indicate a Tire Pressure Monitoring System malfunction.

For more information, refer to “Tire Pressure Monitoring System” and “Tire Pressure” in the “Starting and Driving” chapter.

WARNING

  • Radio waves may interfere with the operation of electrical medical devices. Persons who use a pacemaker should consult the manufacturer of the electrical medical device regarding possible interference before use.
  • If the warning light does not come on when the ignition is switched on, have your vehicle checked by a NISSAN dealer as soon as possible.
  • If the warning light comes on while driving, avoid sudden steering maneuvers and hard braking, reduce speed, pull over to a safe location, and stop the vehicle as soon as possible. Driving with an under-inflated tire can cause permanent damage to the tire and increases the likelihood of tire failure. Your vehicle could be seriously damaged, and you could have an accident resulting in serious injury. Check the pressure of all tires. Adjust the tire pressure to the recommended COLD inflation pressure shown on the Tire and Loading Information label located on the driver's door opening to turn off the low tire pressure warning light. If the warning light still comes on while driving after adjusting the tire pressure, a tire may be flat. If you have a flat tire, install the spare tire as soon as possible.
  • When a spare tire is installed or when a tire is replaced, the tire pressure is not indicated, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System does not function, and the low tire pressure warning light flashes for about one minute. The warning light stays on after one minute. Contact your NISSAN dealer as soon as possible to replace the tires or reset the system.
  • Using replacement tires other than those specified by NISSAN may affect the operation of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System.

WARNING

  • The Tire Pressure Monitoring System does not replace regular tire pressure checks. Check your vehicle's tire pressure regularly.
  • If the vehicle is driven at less than 25 km/h, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System may not function properly.
  • Make sure that tires of the specified size are correctly installed on all four wheels of your vehicle.

Lorsque le commutateur d'allumage est à la positionMulti-function Warning Light

When the ignition switch is in the ON position, the multi-function warning light comes on if one of the following messages is displayed on the multi-function display.

  • NO KEY Alert
  • LOW FUEL Alert
  • Low Washer Fluid Alert
  • RELEASE PARKING BRAKE Alert
  • DOOR OPEN Alert
  • Fuel Filler Cap Not Tightened
  • Check Tire Pressure Alert

assistéePower Steering
Warning Light

WARNING

  • If the engine is not running or stalls while driving, power steering assistance will not operate. The steering wheel will therefore be much harder to turn.
  • When the power steering warning light comes on and the engine is running, there is no power steering assistance at all. You will always be able to control your vehicle, but the steering wheel will be much harder to turn. Visit a NISSAN dealer to have the power steering checked.

When the ignition switch is in the ON position, the power steering warning light comes on. The electric power steering warning light turns off after the engine starts. This indicates that the electric power steering system is functioning. If the electric power steering warning light comes on while the engine is running, the electric power steering may not be operating properly and may need to be repaired.

Visit a NISSAN dealer to have the electric power steering system checked.

Refer to the "Power steering system" section in the "Starting and driving" chapter.

des ceintures de sécuritéSeat belt warning light
and chime

This warning light and chime are activated to remind vehicle occupants to fasten their seat belts. The light comes on as soon as the ignition switch is placed in the ON or START position and stays on until the driver fastens their seat belt. At the same time, the chime sounds for about six seconds unless the driver fastens their seat belt.

The seat belt warning light may also come on if the front passenger seat belt is not fastened while the front passenger seat is occupied. For seven seconds after the ignition is switched on, the system does not illuminate the front passenger warning light.

For precautions on using seat belts, refer to the "Seat belts" section in the "Safety - Seats, seat belts and Supplemental Restraint System" chapter.

Lorsque le commutateur d'allumage est tourné àAir bag light

When the ignition switch is turned to the ON or START position, the air bag warning light comes on for about seven seconds, then goes off. This indicates that the system is functioning.

If any of the following conditions occur, the front air bag, side air bag, side curtain air bag and seat belt pretensioner systems must be serviced by your NISSAN dealer:

  • The air bag warning light stays on after the initial period of about seven seconds.
  • The air bag warning light flashes intermittently.
  • The air bag warning light does not come on at all.

The Supplemental Restraint System (air bag) and/or the pretensioners may not operate properly if they are not inspected and repaired.

For more information, refer to the "Supplemental Restraint System" section in the "Safety - Seats, seat belts and Supplemental Restraint System" chapter of this manual.

WARNING

The air bag warning light coming on may indicate that the front air bag, side air bag, side curtain air bag and seat belt pretensioner systems will not operate in an accident.

To prevent potential injury to occupants, take your vehicle to a NISSAN dealer as soon as possible.
