The vehicle speed sensor is mounted on the transmission case (refer to subsection 7.2.3).

The sensor generates voltage pulses that are sent to the control module, which converts them into vehicle speed. If the sensor or sensor circuit board malfunctions, code 42 is stored in memory.

Inspection of the vehicle speed sensor, the sensor circuit board and the control module must be performed at a dealer service center or a specialized repair shop.
