Checking tire pressure
Subsection 2.1 specifies the recommended cold tire pressure and the tire type fitted to the vehicle.
Check the tire pressure (including the spare tire) once every 2 weeks, but no less often than once a month.
Low tire pressure degrades handling, reduces fuel economy, and increases the risk of tire failure due to overheating. Low pressure also impairs the tire bead seal. A large pressure drop may cause wheel deformation and/or tire ply separation.
Excessive tire pressure reduces ride cushioning, degrades handling, increases wear in the center of the tread, and increases the risk of tire rupture when driving on rough roads.
* Check the pressure only on cold tires, at least 3 hours after driving or after driving no more than 1.5 km.
Do not judge tire pressure by appearance. Measure it with a pressure gauge.
Vehicle handling and ride comfort deteriorate even with a change of only a few tenths of a bar.
Do not reduce tire pressure after driving.
