Checking tire condition

The tires are equipped with tread wear indicators, which become visible when the tread depth is less than 1.6 mm. If the tread wear indicators are visible on two or more adjacent tread grooves, the tire must be replaced. The more worn the tread, the higher the risk of skidding. For winter tires, the minimum remaining tread depth is 4 mm.
Periodically check the tires for damage such as cuts, tread separation, and cracks. If any of these types of damage are found, consult a service center regarding whether the tire can continue to be used.
Tires that have been in service or stored for more than 6 years must be inspected by a specialist even if there is no visible damage. This is necessary because the rubber properties deteriorate due to aging.

Tire replacement

When replacing, install tires that are completely identical in type and construction to the original tires. Otherwise, vehicle handling deteriorates, the accuracy of the speedometer and odometer readings is affected, and the ground clearance and wheel free play in the wheel housing will differ from the specification.

* Do not install bias-ply and radial tires on the same vehicle at the same time, as this may lead to deterioration of vehicle handling and loss of control.

* Do not install used tires.

* The manufacturer recommends replacing tires in sets, at least for one axle.

* After replacing a tire, balance the wheel.

* During tire service, periodically check the tire balance due to uneven wear.

* When replacing tubeless tires, always replace the valve stem with a new one.
