Sliding Roof

~1min read

Correct operation of the roof requires precise installation; however, providing all the descriptions necessary for this exceeds the scope of this manual.

The sliding roof mechanism must be lubricated. If your vehicle has a power sliding roof, check the corresponding automatic fuse in the central fuse/relay box (see chapter Body Electrical System). The sliding roof control unit, located in the auxiliary relay box, cannot be checked with home methods.

Sliding Roof Leaks
A leaking sliding roof is caused by clogged drain hoses, one connected to each of the four corners of the sliding roof frame. Although water may enter, it must also be able to drain away.

Therefore, if the sliding roof leaks, clean all four drain hoses.

Both rear drain openings are difficult to reach even with the roof open (shine a flashlight into the roof housing).

The front drain hoses exit at the level of the lower hinges of the front doors. Both rear hoses end under the side sections of the rear bumper (the side sections must be detached, see section Rear Bumper).
