The lambda (oxygen) sensor must be removed when replacing the catalytic converter (or the sensor itself).


PROCEDURE

Release the wire retainers from the body, disconnect the plug connectors (inspect the wire along its entire length).

Unscrew the sensor.

When installing the lambda sensor, apply G 5 lubricant from the Audi workshop kit. Make sure the lubricant does not get into the sensor housing slot. Tightening torque: 50 N·m.
