eCall (SOS)

The eCall (SOS) system may be fitted as standard on your vehicle or offered as an option.

The eCall (SOS) system, fully integrated into the vehicle, allows you to contact the emergency services directly. The call is set up automatically via the sensors built into the vehicle, or by pressing button 1.

Depending on the country of sale, the eCall (SOS) system corresponds to the PE112, ERA-GLONASS, 999, etc. systems.

The eCall (SOS) system is activated by default.

► To make an emergency call manually, press and hold button 1 for more than 2 seconds.

The indicator light and a voice message confirm that the call is being placed to the emergency services*.

The eCall (SOS) system immediately locates your vehicle and connects you with the appropriate emergency services**.

► Press again immediately to cancel the request.

The light flashes while the vehicle data is being sent, then stays on once the communication is established.

* Subject to the terms and conditions of use of the service available from your dealer, and subject to technological and technical limits.
** Depending on the geographical coverage of the "eCall (SOS)" and "ASSISTANCE" systems.

The list of covered countries and telematic services is available from your dealer or on the website of your country.

In the event of a serious accident, detected by the sensors built into the vehicle, such as the airbag control unit, an emergency call is placed automatically.

The eCall (SOS) system is a free public service of general interest.

System operation

- When the ignition is switched on, the light comes on red then green and goes off: the system is working correctly.

- The light comes on solid red: the system is malfunctioning.

- The light flashes red: the backup battery needs to be replaced.

In the last 2 cases, the emergency call and assistance services may not work.

Have the system checked by a qualified repairer as soon as possible.

The system malfunction does not prevent the vehicle from being driven.

Data processing

Any processing of personal data by the "Localised Emergency Call" (PE112) system is carried out in compliance with the rules on personal data protection laid down in Regulation 2016/679 and Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and, in particular, aims to safeguard the vital interests of the data subjects in accordance with Article 6(1)(d) of Regulation 2016/679.

The processing of this data is strictly limited to handling the "Localised Emergency Call" system on the single European emergency number 112.

The "Localised Emergency Call" system may only collect and process the following vehicle data: chassis number, type (passenger vehicle or light commercial vehicle), fuel type or energy source, last three positions and direction of travel, and a log file recording the automatic activation of the system, with a time stamp.

The recipients of the processed data are the emergency call reception centres designated by the competent authorities of the country in which they are located, in order to receive and handle calls to number 112 as a priority.

Data retention

The data stored in the system's memory cannot be accessed from outside the system before a call is triggered. The system is not traceable and is not constantly monitored in normal operating mode.

The data in the system's internal memory is automatically and continuously erased. Only the last 3 positions of the vehicle are kept.

After an emergency call is triggered, the data history is kept for a maximum of 13 hours.

Access to data

You have the right to access your data and, if necessary, to request the rectification, erasure or restriction of processing of data concerning you that is not processed in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 2016/679. Any third party to whom the data has been disclosed must be notified of any rectification, erasure or restriction carried out in accordance with said directive, unless this proves impossible or involves disproportionate effort.

You may also exercise your right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.

ASSISTANCE

► If the vehicle is immobilised, press and hold button 2 for more than 2 seconds to request assistance (confirmed by a voice message*).

► Press again immediately to cancel the request.

* Depending on the geographical coverage of the "eCall (SOS)" and "ASSISTANCE" systems and on the official national language chosen by the vehicle owner.

The list of covered countries and telematic services is available from your dealer or on the website of your country.

A privacy mode allows you to manage level 5 sharing (data and/or position) between your vehicle and the CITROËN brand.

It can be configured in the Settings menu of the touchscreen.

Otherwise, depending on equipment, deactivate/reactivate geolocation by pressing both buttons simultaneously, then press the "Localised Assistance Call" button to confirm.

If you purchased your vehicle outside the CITROËN network, you are advised to check the configuration of these services and may ask your network to change it. In a multilingual country, the configuration can be set in the official national language of your choice.

For technical reasons, in particular to improve the quality of the telematics services provided to the customer, the Manufacturer reserves the right to update the vehicle's on-board telematics system at any time.

If you benefit from the Citroën Connect Box offer with the SOS and Assistance Pack included, you have additional services available in your personal area on your country's website.

For any information on the SOS and Assistance Pack, refer to the terms and conditions of these services.
