The information below covers the answers to the questions most frequently asked about the system.

Navigation

I cannot enter the destination address.

The address is not recognised.

► Use the "intuitive method" by pressing the "Search..." key at the bottom of the "Navigation" screen.

Route calculation fails.

The route guidance criteria may conflict with the current location (for example, toll roads excluded on a toll motorway).

► Check the route guidance criteria in the "Navigation" menu.

I do not receive "Danger zone" alerts.

The connected services option has not been subscribed to.

► If the option has been subscribed to:

- activation may take a few days,

- the services are not ticked in the system menu,

- the connected services are not active ("TOMTOM TRAFFIC" does not appear on the map).

POIs do not appear.

The POIs have not been selected.

► Zoom in to 200 metres or select the POIs in the POI list.

The "Danger zone" audio alert does not work.

The audio alert is not active or the volume is too low.

► Turn on the audio alert in the "Navigation" menu and check the voice volume in the audio settings.

The system does not offer to avoid an incident on the route.

The route guidance criteria do not take TMC traffic information into account.

► Set the "Traffic info" function in the route guidance criteria list (None, Manual or Automatic).

I receive an alert for a "Danger zone" that is not on my route.

When not in route guidance, the system announces all "Danger zones" within a cone in front of the vehicle. It may alert you to "Danger zones" on nearby or parallel roads.

► Zoom in on the map to see the exact position of the "Danger zone". Select "On route" to stop receiving alerts outside route guidance, or reduce the announcement distance.

Some traffic jams on the route are not shown in real time.

On startup, the system takes a few minutes to receive traffic information.

► Wait until the traffic information has been received (traffic icons appear on the map).

In some countries, traffic information is only available for main roads (motorways, etc.).

This is normal. The system depends on the traffic information available.

Altitude is not displayed.

On startup, GPS initialisation can take up to 3 minutes to correctly acquire more than 4 satellites.

► Wait for the system to fully start so that GPS coverage is at least 4 satellites.

Depending on the geographical environment (tunnel, etc.) or the weather, GPS signal reception conditions may vary.

This phenomenon is normal. The system depends on GPS signal reception conditions.

I no longer have connected navigation.

On startup and in certain geographical areas, the connection may be unavailable.

► Check that connected services are activated (settings, subscription).

Radio

The reception quality of the radio station being listened to gradually deteriorates, or the stored stations do not work (e.g. no sound, "87.5 MHz" is displayed).

The vehicle is too far from the transmitter of the station being listened to, or there is no transmitter in the geographic area being travelled through.

► Activate the "RDS" function via the shortcut menu, so that the system can check whether a more powerful transmitter is in the geographical area.

The antenna is missing or has been damaged (e.g. after passing through a car wash or in an underground car park).

► Have the antenna checked by a Brand dealer.

The environment (e.g. hill, building, tunnel, underground car park) blocks reception, including in RDS tracking mode.

This phenomenon is normal and does not indicate a fault in the radio.

I cannot find certain radio stations in the list of received stations.

The name of the radio station has changed.

The station is no longer received, or its name has changed in the list.

Some radio stations send other information instead of their name (for example the song title).

The system interprets this data as the name of the station.

► Press "Refresh list" in the secondary menu of "Radio stations".

Media

Playback from my USB key starts after an excessively long time (about 2 to 3 minutes).

Some files supplied with the key can greatly slow down access to playback from the key (cataloguing time multiplied by 10).

► Delete the files supplied with the key and limit the number of subfolders in the key's folder structure.

The waiting time after connecting a USB key is long.

The system reads a number of data items (folder, title, artist, etc.). This can take from a few seconds to a few minutes.

This phenomenon is normal.

Some characters in the information of the media currently playing are not displayed correctly.

The audio system cannot process certain types of character.

► Use standard characters to name tracks and folders.

Playback of files via streaming does not start.

The connected device does not allow playback to start automatically.

► Start playback from the device.

Track names and playback time are not displayed on the screen during audio streaming.

The Bluetooth profile does not allow this information to be transferred.
