Windscreen wiper / washer system
Windscreen wiper/washer system Fig. 49
Operation is only possible with the ignition key in MAR.
The right-hand lever can be set to five different positions:
- Windscreen wiper off.
- Intermittent operation.
With the lever in position B, four intermittent speeds can be selected by turning ring F:
= very slow intermittent speed
= slow intermittent speed.
?
= Medium intermittent speed.
?
= Fast intermittent speed.
- Slow continuous operation;
- Fast continuous operation;
- Time-limited fast continuous operation (non-locking position).

Operation in position E is limited to the time the lever is held in this position. When released, the lever returns to position A and the windscreen wiper stops automatically.
Note: when the windscreen wiper is switched on and reverse gear is engaged, the rear wiper is switched on automatically.
Never use the windscreen wiper to clear snow or ice from the windscreen.Under these conditions the wiper motor is overloaded and the motor protection cuts in, preventing operation for a few seconds. If the wiper still does not work afterwards, contact the Fiat service network.

"Intelligent washing" function Fig. 50
Pulling the lever towards the steering wheel (non-locking position) switches on the windscreen washer.
Holding the lever pulled towards the steering wheel switches on the windscreen washer and the windscreen wiper with a single movement. The wiper operates automatically if the lever is held for longer than half a second.
After the lever is released, the wiper runs a few more wipe cycles and then stops. A further "cleaning wipe" after a few seconds completes the cleaning.
