Removal

  1. Remove the camshafts.
    Refer to: Camshafts (Engine 303-01B - 2 L EcoBoost (177 kW/240 L PS) - MI4, Removal and Installation).
    • If the camshafts and valve lifters are to be reused, make sure they are reinstalled in their original positions.
    • Remove the valve lifters.
  3. Inspect the valve lifters and replace if necessary.

Installation

  1. Lubricate the valve lifters with clean engine oil and install the valve lifters.
  2. Install the camshafts.
    Refer to: Camshafts (Engine 303-01B - 2 L EcoBoost (177 kW/240 L PS) - MI4, Removal and Installation).
  3. Road test the vehicle.
