Adding Engine Oil (for diesel engine versions)

To add engine oil, remove the oil filler cap located on the valve cover. Slowly add the required amount of engine oil, taking care not to spill it. Wipe up any spilled oil immediately. Spilled oil can damage components located in the engine compartment.

Install the cap in place and tighten it securely. Warm up the engine, then turn it off and wait about three minutes, after which check the engine oil level using the dipstick. Do not overfill the oil above the upper mark on the dipstick, as this may damage the engine.

Recommended Engine Oil

Use only synthetic engine oil that meets the ACEA specifications listed in the table. When using synthetic engine oil, follow the oil and oil filter replacement intervals specified in the vehicle maintenance schedule.

For vehicles not equipped with a diesel particulate filter (DPF)

Honda Motor strongly recommends using only genuine Honda Motor synthetic engine oil with a viscosity of 0W-30 that meets the ACEA specifications: ACEA A1/B1, ACEA A3/B3, or ACEA A5/B5.

To correctly determine the viscosity of the engine oil suitable for this vehicle (according to ACEA/SAE standards), refer to the chart below:

NOTE: Engine oil with a viscosity of 0W-30 helps improve the vehicle's fuel economy.

For vehicles equipped with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) only

Honda Motor strongly recommends using only genuine Honda Motor synthetic engine oil with a viscosity of 0W-30 that meets the ACEA specifications: ACEA C2 or ACEA C3. To correctly determine the viscosity of the engine oil suitable for this vehicle (according to ACEA/SAE standards), refer to the chart below:

Additives

Honda vehicle components do not require the use of additional additives added to the oil or operating fluids.

The use of various additives may adversely affect the performance and durability of the engine and transmission.
