Fuel Filter
Replace the fuel filter at the interval specified in the vehicle maintenance schedule.
In all countries except European countries, Australia, and New Zealand, it is recommended to replace the fuel filter every 40,000 km or every 2 years, whichever comes first, if there is a possibility that the fuel contains contaminants that could clog the filter. If the vehicle is driven constantly in dusty conditions, the filter may become clogged before this interval.
Have the fuel filter replaced by a Honda dealer with qualified technicians. The fuel system operates under pressure. Incorrect or improper handling of the fuel line connections may cause fuel to spray out and create a fire hazard.
Draining Water and Sediment (diesel engine models only)
If the following symbol “
” appears on the multi-information display, possibly accompanied by the message "WATER IN FUEL FILTER", water has collected in the fuel system, which may cause system failure. Take the vehicle to a Honda dealer for inspection immediately (see page 109).
For vehicles sold in Europe
Drain water from the fuel filter at the interval specified in the vehicle maintenance schedule.
If the vehicle has been stored for a long time, the engine may not start. If water has entered the fuel system, the corresponding symbol will appear on the multi-information display when the ignition switch is turned to the ON (II) position.
This may also be caused by air entering the fuel system. In this case, refer to the procedure described in "Bleeding the Fuel System" on page 421.
