Folding the Rear Seats

The rear seats can be folded separately to increase the cargo space.
Before raising the seat cushion to the upright position, remove all items from the seat.
To fold down the rear seat, perform the following steps:
1. Pull up the strap located under the seat and slide the seat rearward.
The rear seat cannot be folded unless it is first slid fully rearward.
2. To fold the seatback, perform steps 1 - 4 described on pages 190 and 191.
Before folding the right rear seatback, lower the center seatback.

3. Release the floor seat anchors by pulling the seat release strap located under the rear edge of the seat cushion, then lift the rear of the seat.
The seat can only be folded when it is slid fully rearward.

4. Remove the tether strap from the opening in the seatback. Then secure the tether anchor to the hook located on the center pillar.

5. To securely fasten the tether anchor to the hook, pull it downward and make sure it is secure.
To return the seatbacks to the upright position, perform the procedure in reverse order. Before driving, make sure the seat is securely locked in the selected position. If the tether strap is not used, stow it in the opening.
Before driving, make sure the seatbacks are securely locked in the selected position.
Make sure both rear outboard seat belts are positioned on the side of the seats.
Make sure the detachable seat belt buckle of the rear center seat is reinstalled in its position.
Make sure that all items in the cargo area are securely fastened. Unsecured items may be thrown forward with force in the event of sudden braking and injure vehicle occupants (see "Cargo Transport" on page 365).
If any of the rear seats is folded, do not use the parcel shelf (if equipped).
