Tire and Wheel Replacement
Purchase only radial tires for your vehicle, and make sure they fully match the original tires in overall and fitting dimensions, permissible vertical load, speed rating, and maximum permissible air pressure (see the markings on the tire sidewall).
Installing radial and bias-ply tires on the vehicle together may reduce braking efficiency, traction, and handling. Changing the tire size or construction will impair the normal operation of the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
The operation of the ABS and VSA, as well as the Tire Pressure Monitoring System, is based on comparing wheel rotation speeds. Therefore, when replacing tires, buy only tires of the same size as the original tires that were fitted to the vehicle.
Tires of mismatched construction or size may cause the Anti-lock Brake System and Vehicle Stability Assist to activate falsely.
It is recommended to replace all four tires at the same time. If this is not possible or practical, replace the tires on both front wheels or both rear wheels. Replacing only one tire is not recommended, as it will adversely affect vehicle handling.
After rotating the wheels, initialize the Tire Pressure Monitoring System to ensure that it functions properly.
If it becomes necessary to replace the wheels during vehicle operation, select wheels identical to those that were installed on the vehicle when it was new.
Consult an authorized dealer before purchasing new tires.
To purchase wheels, contact an authorized Honda dealer.
Installing tires that are not suitable for the vehicle may lead to deterioration of handling and directional stability.
This may cause a traffic accident in which people may suffer serious injury or even death.
Use only tires that match the type and size specified on the label attached to the vehicle body.
