PROCEDURE

1. Clean all parts, except the brake pads, with isopropyl alcohol.

2. Apply specified grease to the piston seal ring and install it into the piston groove.

3. Assemble the piston and piston boots in the following order:
– apply specified grease to the caliper cylinder walls, the outer surface of the piston and the piston boot;
– install the piston boot as shown in the illustration;
– insert the piston boot into the inner caliper groove and push the piston into the caliper.

4. Assemble the sliding parts in the following order:
– apply specified grease to the outer surface of the sleeve, the guide pin and the sleeve bore, then install the protective boots;
– insert the boots into the caliper grooves.

5. Install the brake pads.

Never apply grease to the brake disc or brake pads.

6. Install and tighten the banjo bolt of the brake hose to the specified torque.

Tightening torques:

Guide pin: 34–44 N•m
Sliding bolt: 22–31 N•m
Caliper mounting bolt: 64–74 N•m
Brake hose banjo bolt: 25–29 N•m

Before installation, check that the bolt and guide pin surfaces are not damaged.

Bleed air from the brake hydraulic system. Depress the brake pedal several times and check for brake fluid leaks.
