PROCEDURE

1. Measure the inside diameter of the brake drum. Using a dial indicator, check the brake drum runout. Replace the brake drum if the inside diameter exceeds the service limit.
Maximum diameter: 200 mm
Brake drum runout: 0.015 mm

2. Measure the thickness of the rear brake shoe linings. Replace all brake shoes on the same axle, even if only one shoe is thinner than the service limit.
Minimum allowable thickness: 1.0 mm
3. Inspect the brake shoe linings for oil or grease contamination, wear, and cracks.
4. Inspect the wheel cylinders for brake fluid leaks.
5. Inspect the backing plate for wear or damage.
