THERMOSTAT - COMPONENTS
REMOVAL AND INSPECTION
1. Drain the coolant so that the level is below the thermostat.
2. Remove the cooling system inlet fitting and gasket.
3. Remove the thermostat.

4. Place the thermostat in hot coolant or water and check that the thermostat valve opening temperature matches the specified value. Replace if necessary.
Valve opening start temperature: 82 °C Valve fully open temperature: 95 °C
COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
1. Place the sensing portion of the sensor in hot coolant of a known temperature.
2. Check that the sensor resistance matches the specified value.
Resistance at 20 °C: 2.31 - 2.59 kΩ
INSTALLATION 1. Make sure that the thermostat is correctly installed in the housing and its flange fits tightly against the housing at the installation point.
2. Install the water inlet pipe of the cooling system with a new gasket.
3. Fill the cooling system with clean engine coolant.
