Valve Guide Replacement

1. Using the special service tool (valve guide installer 09221-22000A/B), press the old valve guide out of the cylinder head, in the direction of the gasket surface.

2. Bore the cylinder head valve guide bore to accept the oversize valve guide (larger outside diameter).

3. Using the special service tool (valve guide installer 09221-22000A/B), press in the new valve guide.

Press the valve guide in from the upper surface side of the cylinder head.

Note the difference in length between the intake and exhaust valve guides.

Do not install a valve guide that does not match the oversize specification.

4. After installing the valve guide, insert a new valve and check that the valve guide-to-stem clearance is within the standard value.

5. After replacing the valve guide, check the valve seating in the seat. If necessary, refinish the valve seat.
