Heating and cooling

Rotary and push-button type

Lever type buttons
There are four controls for the heating and cooling system, as follows:
1. Blower speed control. Used to turn the blower on and select the blower speed.
2. Air intake control. Used to select fresh (
) outside air (Fresh) or recirculated (
) inside air (Recirc).
3. Air flow control. The air flow control is used to direct the air flow. Air can be directed to the floor, the instrument panel outlets, or the windshield. Five symbols are used to indicate air flow positions: Face (
) (face), Bi-Level (
) (bi-level), Floor (
) (floor), Floor-Defrost (
) (floor and defrost) and Defrost (
) (defrost).
4. Temperature control. The temperature control is used to turn the heater on and off and to select the desired heating level.
HEATING CONTROLS
For normal heater operation, set the air intake control to the "Fresh" position and the air flow control to the "Floor" position.
For faster heating, set the air intake control to a position between "Fresh" and "Recirc".
For the fastest heating, the control should be in the "Recirc" position.
If the windows fog up, move the air flow control to the "Def" (Defroster) position and the fresh/recirculation control to "Fresh".
For maximum heating, move the temperature control to "Warm".
BI-LEVEL HEATING
Your Hyundai is equipped with bi-level heating controls. This allows cooled air to flow from the instrument panel outlets and warm air to flow from the floor outlets at the same time.
To use this feature:
• Set the fresh/recirculation control to "Fresh".
• Set the air flow control to "Bi-Level".
• Set the temperature control between "Cool" and "Warm".
VENTILATION
To use the ventilation system:
• Set the fresh/recirculation control to "Fresh".
• To direct incoming air to the instrument panel outlets, set the air flow control to "Face".
• Set the blower speed control to the desired speed.
• Set the temperature control between "Cool" and "Warm".
