HEATING / DEFROSTING

To use the heating / ventilation system to heat or defog the windshield:

• Set the fresh/recirculation control (1) to "Fresh".

• Set the air flow control (2) to "Def".

• Set the temperature control (3) to the desired position.

• Set the blower speed control (4) to position 3 or 4.

• If the vehicle is equipped with an A/C (air conditioning) system, turn on the A/C switch (5) for improved defogging.

In areas of high humidity, A/C can be used with the fresh/recirculation control set to "Recirc" for improved defogging.

Usage Tips

• To prevent dust or smoke from entering the vehicle through the ventilation system, temporarily set the fresh/recirculation control to "Recirc".

Be sure to return the control to "Fresh" after passing an unpleasant source, so that fresh air is supplied to the interior. This helps maintain driver alertness and comfort.

• Air for the heating / cooling system is drawn in through the grille at the base of the windshield. Make sure leaves, snow, ice, or other foreign objects do not block the grille.
