1. POWER ON/OFF knob

The radio operates when the ignition key is in the ACC or ON position. Press this knob to turn on the system. The display shows the radio frequency in radio mode, the tape travel direction in tape mode, or the CD track number in CD or CD AUTO CHANGER mode. To turn off the power, press the knob again.

VOLUME control

To increase the volume, turn the knob clockwise. To decrease the volume, turn the knob counterclockwise.

2. BASS/BALANCE button

Bass control: Press the button so that it pops out.

To increase the bass level, turn the button clockwise. To decrease the bass level, turn the button counterclockwise.

Balance control: Pull the button toward you.

Turn the button clockwise to increase the volume of the right speaker.

(The sound from the left speaker will decrease.)

When the knob is turned counterclockwise, the sound from the left speaker will increase. (The sound from the right speaker will decrease.)

3. TREBLE/FADER button

Treble control TREBLE: Press the button so that it pops out.

Turn the button left or right to obtain the desired treble tone.

Fader control FAD (minivans only)

Pull the button toward you.

Turn the button counterclockwise to increase the volume of the front speaker.

(The volume of the rear speaker will decrease.) When the button is turned clockwise, the volume of the rear speaker will increase. (The volume of the front speaker will decrease.)

4. TUNE button (manual tuning). Press the side () or (), to increase or decrease the frequency. If the button is pressed for 0.5 seconds or longer, the stop signal (broadcast radio wave) is ignored and channel selection continues.

SEEK operation (automatic channel selection). Press the TUNE button for 1 second or longer. When released, the radio automatically tunes to the next receivable station with an audible signal.

When pressing the side () for more than 1 second. When released, the radio automatically tunes to the next higher frequency. When the side () for more than 1 second. When released, the radio automatically tunes to the next lower frequency.

5. Station preset button

The electronic memory can store six (6) stations each for AM, FM and FM2.

How to preset stations

Six AM stations and twelve FM stations can be programmed into the radio memory.

Afterwards, simply press the band selection button and/or one of the six station preset buttons to instantly recall one of these stations.

To program stations, do the following:

• Press the band selector button to select AM, FM or FM2.

• Using seek or manual tuning, select the station you want to store.

• Determine the station preset button you want to use to access the station.

• Press and hold a station preset button for more than two seconds. The display shows the number of the button pressed. After the station is stored in memory, the frequency display lights and an audible signal sounds. Then release the button and program the next desired station. A total of 18 stations can be programmed, assigning 1 AM station and 2 FM stations to each button.

• Once programming is complete, any stored station can be recalled by selecting the AM, FM or FM2 band and the corresponding button.

6. Band selector button. Press the buttonswitches between the AM, FM1 and FM2 bands. The selected mode is shown on the liquid crystal display.

7. EQUALIZER button. Press the EQ button to select the desired tone quality: CLASSIC, JAZZ, ROCK and DEFEAT MODE. Each press of the button changes the display as follows:

8. BEST STATION MEMORY (BSM) button (if equipped)

When the BSM button is pressed for 2 seconds or longer, the six strongest stations are selected and stored in memory.

The stored stations are arranged in sequence, starting from the first preset frequency.

SCAN button (if equipped)

When this button is pressed, the frequency increases and the radio tunes to receivable stations one after another, for 5 seconds each. To stop the scan function, press this button again.
