This light may come on when the
ignition switch is turned to the ON position.

It goes off when the glow plugs have heated up.

If the ignition switch is left in the ON position for an extended period without starting the engine after the glow plugs have heated up, the glow plugs may heat up again, causing the glow plug indicator light to come on.
