Maintenance reminder light

~1min read

The maintenance reminder light comes on when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, and then goes off after a few seconds.

The maintenance reminder light comes on when scheduled maintenance is approaching. Check the message and have the required service performed.

See "Maintenance Monitor" on page 6-15.

SKYACTIV-D 1.5

The maintenance reminder light comes on when the engine oil is degraded, its level is insufficient*, or it is near the X mark on the level gauge or beyond the X mark.

Check the engine oil level. See the "Checking the Engine Oil Level" section on page 6-28.

Replace the engine oil if the maintenance reminder light does not go off even though the engine oil level is within the normal range.

CAUTION

  • Depending on how the vehicle is operated, the maintenance reminder light may come on for reasons other than the set maintenance interval.

  • Each time the engine oil is replaced, the engine oil data stored in the engine control unit must be reset.

You can reset the engine oil data stored in the engine control unit at an Authorized Mazda Dealer, or yourself by following the procedure on page 6-27.
