If the HomeLinkMD remote does not quickly recognize the codes of a handheld remote:

  • replace the batteries in the handheld remote;
  • Hold the handheld remote in front of the HomeLinkMD remote, keeping the end where the battery is located away from the surface of the HomeLinkMD remote;
  • Press and hold the buttons on both remotes (HomeLinkMD and the handheld remote) at the same time;
  • Position the end of your handheld remote 26 to 76 mm (1 to 3 in) from the surface of the HomeLinkMD universal remote. Hold the remote in this position for 15 seconds. If this time is not enough to program the HomeLinkMD remote, try holding the remote in a different position while keeping the indicator light in view at all times.

If you have questions about programming your HomeLinkMD remote buttons, or if you experience difficulties during programming, visit the HomeLinkMD website at www.homelink.com, or call 1 800 355-3515.
