GENERAL INFORMATION

The machined seat and the new valve must be lapped together to ensure maximum sealing.

Valves must be lapped only with fine lapping compound. To rotate the valve, attach a rubber suction cup to the valve head. To avoid grooves, lift the valve frequently and rotate it evenly in both directions during lapping. Warning After lapping, thoroughly remove all lapping compound. The lapping result can be checked by the appearance of the contact surface or with fuel.

PROCEDURE

Install the valve, fill the combustion chamber with gasoline. Fuel must not leak past the valve seat; otherwise, repeat the lapping.
