Fuel System
GENERAL INFORMATION

Fuel System Components
1. Hand priming pump
2. Fuel filter
3. Drain valve
4. High-pressure fuel pump
5. Bypass valve
6. Connector of fuel cut-off valve
7. Cold start system
8. Fuel return control valve
9. Damper
10. Fuel line
The fuel system includes the fuel tank, fuel lines, high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) with injectors, and fuel filter. The current fuel level is shown on the fuel gauge. The fuel tank is equipped with a ventilation system. If the fuel tank is empty, air must be bled from the fuel system. Warning To check whether fuel is supplied to the injectors when starting is difficult, loosen the union nuts on two injectors and crank the engine without glow plug preheating until fuel emerges at the union nuts. Tighten the union nuts and start the engine as described in the instructions.
PROCEDURE
1. If fuel does not flow, bleed air from the system as follows.
2. Fill the high-pressure fuel pump with diesel fuel.
3. Fill the fuel filter with fuel.
4. Crank the engine.
5. These measures allow air to be bled from the system quickly.
6. When working on the fuel system, observe cleanliness rules.
7. Also make sure diesel fuel does not flow onto the coolant hoses.
8. If necessary, clean the hoses immediately.
9. Replace corroded hoses.
