RCV Control Solenoid Valve Description and Operation

~1min read

Description

The RCV (Recirculation Valve) control solenoid valve is installed on the upper part of the engine coolant pan and operates the RCV actuator that controls the turbocharger compressor bypass passage. When the throttle valve is closed during engine operation [Overrun], compressor wheel noise occurs due to a rapid boost pressure rise. Therefore, to prevent this, the ECM maintains the appropriate boost pressure by opening the bypass passage.
