Description

The GDI injector is similar to a conventional injector, but it injects fuel at a much higher pressure directly into the combustion chamber and has a swirl disc to make the fuel swirl as it exits the nozzle. This promotes fuel atomization. The ECM controls both circuits: the power supply (high side) supplies voltage to the injectors, and the ground circuit (low side) activates the injector. The power supply for 2 injectors also comes from one driver set. Since the ignition coils are paired with cylinders (1-4 and 2-3), the injectors are also installed in pairs.
