Inspection

  1. Connect the GDS to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Measure the RPS output voltage at idle and at various engine speeds.
    Condition Output voltage (V)
    Idle approx. 1.2
    1500 rpm 2,2 ~ 2,5
    6300 rpm approx. 3.0

Removal

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Relieve the residual fuel pressure in the fuel line. (Refer to Fuel System – "Relieve Residual Fuel Pressure in Fuel Line")
    • When the fuel pump relay is removed, a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is set. Clear the DTC with GDS after completing the "Relieve Fuel Pressure" procedure.
  3. Remove the intake manifold. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Intake Manifold")
  4. Remove the injector insulator (A).
  5. Disconnect the rail pressure sensor connector (A), then remove the sensor (B) from the delivery pipe.

Installation

  • Install the component with the specified torque.
  • Note that internal damage may occur if the component is dropped. If the component has been dropped, inspect it before installation.
  1. Install in the reverse order of removal. Rail Pressure Sensor Installation: 30.0 ~ 35 N·m
