Before and after the warm season, the radiator surface must be cleaned of insect residue, otherwise the cooling efficiency is reduced.


PROCEDURE

Open the hood. On 5-cylinder engines, additionally remove the upper radiator protective cover.

Spray dried insect residue with a protein-dissolving cleaner (for example, "Summer Screen" by Holts).

After the cleaner has acted for a while, spray the rear side of the radiator with the same cleaner. Rinse the radiator with a gentle stream of water. A stiff brush or sharp tool can damage the radiator surface.

Direct the water hose into the openings around the cooling fan. Lift the rubber protective caps where fitted and direct the water stream into the openings behind them.
