Water Pump

The water pump (1) of the 4-cylinder engine is located at the front left of the engine. Item (2) shows the thermostat housing cover; the arrows indicate some of the water pump bearing cover retaining bolts.

The water pump (arrow) of the 5-cylinder engine is located at the front of the engine and is driven by the timing belt.

The water pump (arrow) of the 6-cylinder engine is located on the front of the cylinder block. It is driven by the inner surface of the timing belt.
For the coolant to circulate in the cooling system, it is accelerated by the water pump. It is driven differently depending on engine type:
On models with the 4-cylinder engine, the pump is located at the front left of the engine in the direction of travel and is driven by the V-ribbed belt.
On models with the 5-cylinder engine, the pump is also located at the front left, but is driven by the timing belt.
The 6-cylinder engine pump is driven by the outer side surface of the timing belt.
The water pump requires no maintenance during its service life. If it leaks or produces a whistling noise, it must simply be replaced, as it cannot be repaired.
