Steering Wheel Removal - Models Without Airbag

This describes removal of the steering wheel on vehicles not equipped with an airbag.

PROCEDURE

Pull off the horn button in the center of the steering wheel with a sharp pull.

Set the steering wheel to the locked position.

Loosen the steering column nut using a 24 mm socket.

Set the front wheels exactly in the straight-ahead position so that the steering wheel spokes are symmetrical.

Remove the nut and the washer, and pull off the steering wheel with a sharp pull.

When installing the steering wheel, make sure its spokes are in a symmetrical position.

Secure the steering wheel lock.

Tighten the steering column nut to 40 N·m.

To remove the steering wheel on models without an airbag, remove the horn button (1) from the locking bolts (3) (be careful, there are plastic hooks on the left and right!), disconnect the wire (2) and loosen the center nut (arrow).
