Wheel bearings of all-wheel drive models

When the hub bearing play is set correctly, the thrust washer (1) under the adjusting nut (2) can be moved slightly by light pressure from a screwdriver. The screwdriver blade must not rest on the brake drum or brake disc.

If the cotter pin still cannot be inserted into the locking hole, turn the nut slightly in the direction of tightening until it aligns.

Install the wheel cover by tapping it with a rubber mallet, placing a tightly rolled cloth under it if necessary.

All-wheel drive models and the rear axle use pressed-in double ball bearings. Although they do not require adjustment, they cannot be replaced independently without the proper press tools.
