The recommendations offered assume that the owner performs vehicle maintenance procedures independently, as opposed to work performed at an AUDI dealership service department. Although this schedule is based on manufacturer recommendations, the intervals between most procedures may be shortened at the owner's discretion. For example, fluids and lubricants should be checked and replaced at intervals that ensure maximum service life of the engine or drivetrain. In addition, if the vehicle owner wants to keep the vehicle in maximum readiness for possible resale, many procedures may be performed more often. We welcome such initiative.

Initial servicing and inspection of a new vehicle must be performed at the dealership service department in order to comply with the warranty obligations. In most cases, this inspection is performed free of charge (for further information, contact the dealership).

EVERY MONTH · Check the engine oil level (see subsection Checking Fluid Levels and Monitoring for Leaks) · Check the engine coolant level (see subsection Checking Fluid Levels and Monitoring for Leaks) · Check the brake fluid/clutch fluid level (see subsection Checking Fluid Levels and Monitoring for Leaks) · Check the windshield washer fluid level (see subsection Checking Fluid Levels and Monitoring for Leaks) · Check the tires and tire pressure (see subsection Checking Tires and Tire Pressure)

ANNUALLY OR EVERY 15,000 KM

Under severe operating conditions, such as predominantly city driving and short trips, frequent driving in mountainous terrain, towing a trailer, and dusty roads, these operations must be performed more often.

All monthly checks, plus: · Replace the engine oil and oil filter (see subsection Replacing Engine Oil and Oil Filter) · Check the thickness of the front and rear brake pads (see subsection Checking the Brake System). · Reset the service interval indicator (refer to the information presented above). · Diesel engine: Measure timing belt wear and check for damage.
