Wiper Blade Inspection and Replacement
Road film builds up on wiper blades over time, reducing their effectiveness. Wash the blades regularly with a mild cleaning solution.
Inspection
Inspect the wiper arm and blade assemblies regularly. If the inspection reveals hardening or cracks in the blade rubber, replace the blades. If nothing unusual is found, wet the windshield, operate the wipers for a short time, and then switch them off. An uneven wipe pattern on the glass or streaks on a clean windshield indicate that the blades should be replaced.
Wiper mechanism operation may loosen the mounting nuts. Check and tighten them as necessary each time the blades are inspected.
Wiper Blade Replacement
PROCEDURE
1. Pull the wiper arm and blade assembly away from the windshield.

2. Slide the latch and remove the blade assembly from the wiper arm.

3. If you want to replace only the blade rubber, disconnect the end of the blade from the blade frame, then pull the blade out of the frame.
4. Compare the new blade with the old one for length, design, etc.
5. Install the new blade, then insert its end into the blade frame to secure it.
6. Install the blade assembly on the arm, then wet the glass and check wiper operation.
