OVERDRIVE SWITCH

When the overdrive switch is ON, the transmission automatically shifts up to second, third, or overdrive gear. When the overdrive switch is OFF, the transmission will not shift up to overdrive gear at all.

For normal driving, keep the automatic transmission selector lever in the "D" position and the overdrive switch ON. To move the automatic transmission selector lever, first press the button on the selector lever handle.

If you need to accelerate quickly, press the accelerator pedal fully to the floor. The transmission will automatically shift up depending on vehicle speed.

Keep the overdrive switch ON for fuel economy and smooth driving. If engine braking is required in the "D" range, or if repeated upshifting and downshifting between 3rd and 4th gear is occurring while driving uphill on a gentle slope, it is recommended to turn the overdrive switch OFF. Turn the overdrive switch back ON as soon as possible.
