REAR PARKING ASSIST SYSTEM (if equipped)

This system consists of four ultrasonic sensors in the rear bumper that measure the distance to the nearest object. The system warns the driver when the vehicle approaches an object to help prevent possible damage to the bumper.

The system operates when the back-up light is on and the ignition switch is in the "ON" position. The warning sounds twice: first a pulsing warning tone, then a continuous tone.

Reverse speed is limited to 5 km/h. If you hear the warning tone when shifting into "R", this does not indicate a vehicle malfunction; it means the rear parking assist system is working normally.

• The rear parking assist system is only a supplementary function.

The driver must check the rearview mirror.

• The warning sound may vary depending on the objects.

• The warning sound may not operate if the sensor is frozen or contaminated.

• The rear warning system may malfunction when driving on uneven surfaces such as wooded areas, gravel roads, bumpy roads, or slopes.

• Do not hit or scratch the sensor surface. This may damage the sensor housing.

• The sensor system may not detect sharp objects, thick winter clothing, or sound-absorbing porous materials.

CAUTION:

If you do not hear the warning sound, or if an intermittent sound occurs when shifting into "R", this indicates a malfunction in the rear warning system. If this occurs, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealer as soon as possible.
