Starting and Stopping a Turbocharged or Turbo-Intercooled Engine (if equipped)

1. Do not apply full throttle or increase speed immediately after starting the engine. If the engine is cold, let it idle for a few seconds before driving to ensure adequate lubrication of the turbocharger.

2. After high-speed driving or prolonged driving, i.e., heavy engine load, allow the engine to idle before shutting it off, as shown in the table.

Idling allows the turbocharger to cool down before the engine is shut off.

CAUTION:

Do not shut off the engine immediately after heavy load. This may cause serious damage to the engine and turbocharger.
