The high-efficiency Hyundai automatic transmission has four forward speeds and one reverse speed.

It has a conventional shift pattern as shown in the illustration.

At night, with the turn signals or headlights on, the corresponding symbol on the console next to the lever will illuminate according to the selected range.

Во время движения автомобиля никогда не переключайтесь в положение "R" или "P".CAUTION:

Never shift into R or P while the vehicle is moving.

нажать педаль тормоза и кнопкуWhen shifting gears, depress the brake pedal and the buttonкнопку.When shifting gears, press the button.

свободно.The shift lever can be moved freely.

For optimal fuel economy, increase speed gradually. The transmission will automatically shift into second, third, and overdrive.

Function of each position:

• P (Park) Used to hold the vehicle in place when parked or when starting the engine; move the automatic transmission shift lever to the "P" position. When parked, apply the parking brake and move the shift lever to the "P" position.

Никогда не переключайте рычаг управления автоматической коробкой передач в положениеCAUTION:

Never shift the automatic transmission selector lever into "R" until the vehicle has come to a complete stop. Failure to observe this will cause serious damage to the transmission.

• R (Reverse)

Use to drive the vehicle in reverse. Before shifting the automatic transmission selector lever into "R", bring the vehicle to a complete stop.

• N (Neutral)

In the "N" position, the transmission is in neutral, meaning no gears are engaged. The engine can be started with the selector lever in "N", although this is not recommended, except when the engine stalls unexpectedly while driving.

• D (Drive)

Use for normal driving.

The transmission shifts automatically through four forward gears for the best fuel economy and performance. If the vehicle speed is above 96 km/h (60 mph), do not manually downshift to "2" or "L".

• 2 (Second gear)

Use for driving on slippery roads, climbing hills, or using engine braking when descending a hill.

"2" is engaged automatically between 1st and 2nd gear.

This means that the transmission will not shift into 3rd gear. However, the transmission will shift into 3rd gear if the vehicle speed exceeds a set value, which prevents engine overloading. To return to normal driving conditions, manually move the automatic transmission selector lever to "D".

• L (Low gear)

Use for climbing very steep hills or for engine braking when descending steep hills. When shifting into "L", the transmission will temporarily remain in second gear until the vehicle slows down sufficiently to engage low gear. Do not exceed 50 km/h (31 mph) in low gear.

"L" engages only 1st gear. However, the transmission shifts into 2nd gear when the vehicle exceeds a certain speed, and as speed increases, it shifts into 3rd gear to prevent engine overloading.

• Р (стоянка):CAUTION:

• P (Park):

Use this range to park the vehicle. This range is also used when starting and warming up the engine.

• N (Neutral)

The engine can be started in this range, but for safe starting, it is recommended to use the P range.

• For smooth operation, depress the brake pedal when shifting from NEUTRAL or PARK into a forward gear or REVERSE.

• The ignition switch must be in the "ON" position and the brake pedal must be fully depressed to move the selector lever from "P" (Park) to any other position.

• It is always possible to shift from "R", "N", "D", "2", or "L" to "P".

• Переключайтесь в "R" или "Р", только когда транспортное средство полностьюCAUTION:

• Shift into "R" or "P" only when the vehicle is completely stopped.

• When the brakes are applied, do not increase engine speed in reverse or in any of the forward positions.

• Always apply the parking brake when shifting from "P" or "N" into "R", "D", "2", or "L".

• Do not use the P (Park) position in place of the parking brake. Always set the parking brake, shift the transmission into P (Park), and turn off the ignition when you leave the vehicle, even for a minute. Never leave the vehicle unattended with the engine running.

• Check the automatic transmission fluid level regularly and top up as necessary.
