Brake booster
The vehicle is equipped with power-assisted brakes that adjust automatically during normal use.
If the engine is not running or stalls while driving, the brake booster does not operate.
If braking force is lost because the engine has stalled or for other reasons, the vehicle can still be stopped by applying more force to the pedal than normal. However, the stopping distance will be longer than with the brake booster.
When the engine is not running, the reserve braking power is partially depleted each time the brake pedal is pressed. Do not operate the brake pedal after the brake booster has stopped working.
Operate the pedal only when necessary to maintain steering control on slippery surfaces.
WARNING Observe the following precautions: - Do not drive with your foot resting on the brake pedal. This causes an unnaturally high brake temperature, excessive wear of the brake linings and pads, and longer stopping distances. - When driving down a long or steep hill, downshift and avoid continuous use of the brakes. Continuous brake application causes overheating and may result in a temporary loss of braking force. - Wet brakes may compromise the vehicle's ability to slow down safely. The vehicle may also pull to one side when the brakes are applied. A light pressure on the brake pedal indicates whether this condition has occurred. Always test the brakes this way after driving through deep water. To dry the brakes, lightly press the brake pedal to heat them while maintaining a safe speed until braking performance returns to normal. Avoid driving at high speed until the brakes work properly.Test yourself
