Description
The Ambient Temperature Sensor (ATS) is installed on the external module and detects the ambient air temperature. The ECM receives information on both the intake air temperature and the ambient air temperature at the same time in order to precisely control the intake air volume through the turbocharger. The electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases as temperature rises and increases as temperature falls. This sensor is a Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) thermistor, and its resistance is inversely proportional to temperature.
