Inspection

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the injector connector.
  3. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the injector.
  4. Make sure the resistance is within specification.

    Specification: Refer to "Specifications"

Removal

  1. Turn the ignition OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Release the residual fuel pressure in the fuel line. (Refer to Fuel System - "Release Residual Fuel Pressure in Line")
  3. Remove the delivery pipe and injector assembly. (Refer to Fuel System - "Delivery Pipe")
  4. Disconnect the connector (A), then separate the injector (B) from the delivery pipe.

Installation

  1. Combustion Seal
  2. Rubber Washer
  3. Support Ring
  4. O-ring
  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Replacement

Replace the injector O-ring with a new one to prevent leakage after removal.
  1. Remove the combustion seal (A) using cutting pliers.
  2. Before installing the O-ring, clean the groove with a clean cloth. Any carbon deposits on the injector sealing surface must be carefully removed with a brass wire brush.
  3. Place the O-ring installation guide (B) (SST No.: 09353-2B000) on the injector tip, taking care not to damage the injector tip (A). Press the O-ring (C) onto the tapered installation tool with your thumb and index finger until it enters the groove. The complete installation should not take more than 2-3 seconds.
  4. To determine the O-ring size, first insert the injector into the sizing tool (A) (SST No.: 09353-2B000), then press and simultaneously rotate it 180° in the gauge tool.
  5. Remove the injector from the gauge tool by rotating it in the direction opposite to that used during press-fitting.
  6. Check the installation of the combustion seal (A).
