Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor (EGTS) Description and Operation

~1min read

Description

Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor (EGTS) No. 1 is installed in the exhaust manifold. For the WGT, it measures the temperature of the exhaust gas flowing into the WGT. Installed in the Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) assembly, the EGTS No. 2 for the GPF measures the temperature of the exhaust gas flowing into the GPF. When the specified engine condition is met, the ECM burns off the soot collected in the GPF. At this time, the exhaust gas temperature is an important factor for the engine condition.
