Engine Control System/Fuel System

RCV Control Solenoid Valve Description and Operation

~1min read

Description

The RCV (Recirculation Valve) control solenoid valve is installed on the engine intake system. It operates the RCV actuator, which controls the compressor bypass passage of the turbocharger. When the throttle valve closes during engine operation [Tip-Out], a compressor wheel impact noise occurs due to a rapid increase in boost pressure. To prevent this phenomenon, the ECM opens the bypass passage to release the boost pressure appropriately.
